 Siaya County is experiencing shortage of dentists, a health officer has said. The director of public health, Owino Omondi, said the county has one dentist whom the entire county relies on to attend to the ever increasing number of patients.
"It is regrettable the dentist is on leave and we have nobody to step in for him," he said.
Mr. Omondi added that patients with serious dental care problems are referred to hospitals in Kisumu town. The only dentist sometimes has to attend to a large number of patients at a go which exerts too much pressure on him.
He was speaking yesterday during a tour of Bondo Sub county Hospital accompanied by Governor Cornel Rasanga.
